The Gardens at the New Otani

I've been in Japan for two weeks now. But it's
fairly late, so just a few observations, and one picture.
First of all, the food is excellent. High quality, really top notch, and very tasty. As it turns out, real ramen is real good. Second, their subway and train system is the best I've ever seen. I've never been to London, but Tokyo is better than Paris or New York. Third, on the downside, everything costs about double what it does in the US, except for cars and electronics, which are comparable.
Space is at a premium, and the Japanese are used to crowds. There is no such thing as invading someone else's personal space, because they (and you) have none. Below is a picture of the project room where I work. No, people don't have more than one computer - each of the empty desks you see is normally occupied by an individual. Also, note the use of TFT screens to save desk space. Click the picture for the 1024x768 version(271KB).
